The entrance to the ride is meant to look like the front of the Museum of Antiquities where Evy worked in the movie. Over the course of the ride, there is old trackwork and a statue of Kong built in to pay tribute. The Mummy cost $40 million to build and consists of tracks that were used in Kongfrontation as homage to the ride which stood for over 20 years. Our first stop is Universal Studios Orlando where Revenge of The Mummy opened on May 21, 2004, replacing an old favorite–Kongfrontation–which closed on September 8, 2002. So…who wants to learn how to break the curse and defeat Imhotep forever? The ride itself is a roller coaster that lasts about two to three minutes and reaches speeds of up to 45 mph with sudden drops, twists, turns and a period where you are in complete darkness. We have covered the movie itself, the soundtrack and now the “Revenge of the Mummy” ride which can be found in Universal Studios Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Singapore. March may only be a few days old but “March of Mummies” is already coming to life starting with your fill of everything from the 1999 Universal Studios remake of The Mummy starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.
